| DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE – TEAM MEMBERS Sept 8th 2008
A Disciplinary Committee will be appointed by MMHA prior to the start of each year.
The Disciplinary Committee will be chaired by an Executive Member who has been appointed by the MMHA Executive. It shall be composted of the chair and at least 2 other voting members who are not part of the MMHA Executive. The chair does not vote unless thee is a tie.
All Match Penalties, Gross Misconduct Penalties and Repeat Offenders will be tracked by the OMHA Rep or appropriate Local League or House League Convener.
Any spectator who fails to show true sportsmanship during a game toward an ice official, player, team official or other spectator shall meet with the Disciplinary Committee. A player to team official, team official to player, spectator/parent to team official confrontation shall meet with the Disciplinary Committee.
Every away game sheet is to be photocopied and the copy given to the OMHA, Local League or House League Convener. Upon receiving evidence of a match penalty, gross misconduct, repeat offense or conduct detrimental to the best interests of MMHA, the Executive shall require that player or other person to appear before the Disciplinary Committee within 7 days of receipt of notification.
The Disciplinary Committee will have the authority to impose further suspensions (beyond the OMHA Minimums) or to impose other sanctions as they see fit.
Appeals to decisions of the Disciplinary Committee must be received within 3 days of notification, in writing, to the President or his/her delegate for consideration by the Disciplinary Committee Chair, and the MMHA Executive. The MMHA Executive must respond in writing within 3 days upon receipt of an appeal. The fee for any appeal shall be $75.00 payable to the MMHA and the suspension stands until the appeal is heard.
Players receiving further match penalties and gross misconduct penalties after having appeared before the Disciplinary Committee may be required to appear again.
Reprimand may be:
- Verbal warning depending on the nature of the offense.
- Second appearance and/or severity of the situation may result in suspension from the team.
- Third appearance before the committee may result in suspension from the Midland Minor Hockey Association.
